Expansion of Pneumococcal Vaccination to 7 Provinces in Iran

The Deputy Minister of Health at the Ministry of Health discussed the administration of the pneumococcal vaccine in the country, stating that in the final days of last year, we implemented a pilot pneumococcal vaccine injection in Bandar-e Khamir. Currently, the pneumococcal vaccine is being administered in seven provinces and 19 medical universities and faculties of medical sciences.

Regarding the administration of the rotavirus vaccine, Farshidi mentioned that we initiated the pilot administration of the rotavirus vaccine in two southern provinces based on the prevalence of pneumococcal infections. The administration of the rotavirus vaccine will be implemented nationwide before the summer season.
